"I had chronic tennis elbow. I literally couldn't even hold up a coffee cup. I couldn't play tennis. I couldn't do some daily activities with my right arm.
When you have it and you can't do what you normally do, it really does—like I was kind of in depression because the endorphins that tennis produces and getting out there, being active, seeing my friends, the social part of it—when you can't do that, it really does take away a big piece of who you are.
It came on really quickly and was kind of surprising, like all of a sudden I couldn't hold a cup.
So I immediately contacted a local company that does orthopedics, went to see a doctor there, and he recommended that I put a brace on my arm. The only option that he gave me was getting a cortisone shot, which when I had done research on that, it said basically don't do that because it will end up making it worse.
So I did the brace and used the brace, but by itself, it was not enough to alleviate the pain so that I could play tennis.
I actually play tennis with Dr. Logan. Kevin (Dr. Logan) reached out to me and it was funny because he said, "I don't normally do this because it's a little awkward, but I do have an option for you."
One day, in the office, it didn't take very long. I was shocked at how quickly my elbow started to heal. I ended up needing two shots just because it was in pretty bad shape, like I had really done some damage.
Given the option of doing that or surgery, it was a no-brainer. I cannot believe how quickly I was able to play and how well it healed. I'm just really happy with the results.
It was cost-effective, easy, and an easy process to heal from. I would not have been playing so quickly or getting back to normal without those shots. And again, no surgery, which was awesome because some people have had surgery and then you're talking about six months to a year. I don't want to not play tennis for six months to a year—that's what I do. I'm a tennis player.
It was kind of cool because when I got the shot, he did an ultrasound. I could really see the way the tendon was, and he showed me, "See that right there? That's because it's inflamed." So it made a lot of sense when you could see it because you knew what was going on in there.
I learned so much about how my body works and how to heal it.
I do give Kevin's number out to tons of people. If they're like, How did you heal your tennis elbow? I say, Call Dr. Logan, call Dr. Logan. I've had people come for their knees, shoulders, elbows.
If you're considering treatment with The Logan Institute, I would highly recommend researching all the options for whatever that ailment is so that when you come in and talk to Dr. Logan, you have a good understanding of what he does.
It was just such a refreshing option. It was such a great feeling to know that I wasn't going to have to have surgery, I wasn't going to have to have steroids, and I wasn't going to risk re-injuring myself by doing the wrong treatment.
So I think it's a good idea to understand what all the treatment options are so that you can really appreciate the quality of care you're going to get here."
